THUNDERBOLT WORKS

Recently, there was need for a LACIE Thunderbolt drive to be used with this system.

With the z77 UP5TH motherboard, I am VERY happy to announce that it worked, OBB (out of the box) as in, no additional configuring needed. Simply plug it into the system and go.
How's that for painless?

Wow, time flies... This is a computer that is now over four years old. It is still faster than 80 percent of the "real" macs out there. It also NEVER crashes, has proven to be 100% compatible with everything, dual boots to Windows 7. Basically, it's a perfect computer.

This computer has worked perfectly for almost four years. It has been used to edit High-Def shows for network television. This is used as a mission critical computer. It is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Adobe CS6
Works perfectly. After Effects and MOCHA PRO are my daily-income software. I can't afford for them NOT to work perfectly.

Premiere Pro has become my editor of choice since FCP is not really being updated (properly) by Apple.

Final Cut Studio 3
Every program in the suite runs perfectly.
including: Realtime HD editing, digitizing from DV, log and transfer from HD cards.

Avid Media Composer 6
works perfectly.

Cinema 4D -

works perfectly

Nuendo 4.3
Works. Is it perfect? That is the question and reason for this blog. I can and do mix everything from stereo to 5.1 (output via a firewire outboard soundcard) -- however, it does NOT work nearly as well as it does on XP.
There is no ASIO latency issue. The program itself is sluggish. Everything works, including video out via firewire. The program is just -- sluggish.

UPDATE: NUENDO 4.3 works better on Snow Leopard than Mountain Lion. Haven't yet upgraded, so I can't speak for newest versions of Nuendo on ML.
